Doug Cook is a director and cinematographer with a diverse and ever-evolving body of work that spans commercials, music videos, short films, micro-documentaries, and branded social content. With a passion for storytelling and visual craft, Doug brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to every frame he creates.

In 2023, Doug was selected as one of eight Canadian directors to attend a Virtual Production Workshop hosted by the Directors Guild of Canada. This opportunity led to the creation of Look Up, a fully virtual short film that became an Official Selection at Spark Animation Festival in Vancouver — marking his entry into next-generation filmmaking.

Doug’s award-winning music video Float Away, a stop-motion collaboration with musician Ellie Heath, earned Best Music Video at the 2023 Rosie Awards. He continued exploring handcrafted storytelling with Old Dragon Man, a marionette-driven short film selected by the Calgary International Film Festival, and Burning All the Past Away, which screened at the Calgary Comic Expo.
